Tenth-ranked Michigan’s rejuvenated defense will be tested on the road this afternoon by 19th-rankedMichiganState’s running game as the Spartans and Wolverines do battle in East Lansing.
Michigan is ranked 39th nationally in defense, but is number-two in the land in red zone defense and tops in the nation in fumbles recovered.Michigan State this afternoon aims to match its longest winning streak of four games against the U-of-M. The Spartans well know that in 38 of the last 41 games between the two schools, the team that had the most yards on the ground was the winner.
However, so far this season, Michigan State’s rushing attack has been sub-par, although in their last outing two weeks ago in a victory at Ohio State, the green and white’s offensive line looked to be on a more solid footing.
