DEARBORN (WKZO) -- Driven largely by a 15-percent gain in truck sales, Ford Motor Company is posting a nine-percent increase in total sales for September.

Utility sales posted their best September since 2004 with the Escape setting a September sales record.  Explorer sales boomed as well, showing a 204-percent increase over the same month last year.  Fusion sales were up 23-percent over September 2010, marking the eleventh time in the last 12 months the Fusion has set a monthly sales record.
