ST. JOSEPH COUNTY (WKZO) -- An autopsy is planned scheduled on the body of a woman who was found dead in the burned out shell of her home on Shannon Road in St. Joseph County’s Leonidas Township Monday morning.

Dead is 62-year-old Mary Kauffman. The state police fire marshal has been requested to determine the cause of the fatal fire.  Fire crews were called about 7:22 Monday morning and found the cobblestone home filled with smoke and flames.

The body was discovered after the flames were extinguished.
