KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- This used to be about the time of the year when the United Way would be wrapping up its annual fall campaign, but not this year.
Reaching their goal has become tougher as the economy has soured, and the campaign has been extended for the last few years.
Greater Kalamazoo United Way Director Mike Larson said right now they are a little under 3-quarters of the way to their goal. They have raised over $6,689,000 toward their $9.3 million goal.
The fundraising has gotten tougher and the need has never been more acute.
Larson said they still have a number of corporate campaigns underway. Folks can call the GKUW to learn more on how to donate.
