The magnitude of this series was not lost on any of the players, as they were a single point out of first place in the CCHA. The team in their way, the Michigan Wolverines. After a 3-2 victory last night, and snapping a 19 game home winning streak for the Wolverines, Western had all the momentum coming into tonight's game at Yost Arena. However, the Michigan Wolverines proved to be too much tonight. The Broncos have to settle for the split as they fall 5-2.

The Wolverines scored first, but the Broncos rebounded nicely in the second period with goals from Chase Balisy and Derek Roehl.

Michigan took advantage of the power play opportunities tonight, scoring on two chances in the third period to expand the Wolverine lead to 4-2.
