A former Kalamazoo Public Safety officer, turned financial advisor, has now found out what it’s like to be on the other side of the criminal justice system. John Bravata could be shipped back to Michigan this week for his first hearing before a federal judge, to face wire fraud charges.
He was arrested at New York’s JFK Airport after he flew in from Italy
last Thursday. Justice Dept. officials say he bilked 440 investors out of over
50-million dollars with a real estate investment scheme that was long
on promises and short on delivery.
He had been facing civil action. The criminal counts were unsealed last week.
