The Red Wings must start a 4-game winning streak tomorrow night at Joe Louis Arena or their season is finished. That’s because last night inDetroit, the San Jose Sharks topped the Red Wings 4-to-3 in overtime to take a 3-games-to-nothing lead in their best of 7 Western Conference semi-final series.
Devin Setoguchi completed the hat trick at the 9:21 mark of the extra period for the game winner. The Sharks tied the game with 4:08 to play in regulation. Nicklas Lidstrom had a goal and an assist while Pavel Datsyuk and Patrick Eaves each had a goal forDetroit. Jimmy Howard made 34 stops in the loss.
The Red Wings have dropped seven straight playoff games to San Jose by one goal. Just three teams in NHL history have rallied from a 3-to-0 series deficit, most recently, the Flyers, who rebounded last season against the Bruins.
In the ECHL, the Kalamazoo Wings play tonight at Wheeling with the Eastern Conference finals tied at a game apiece.
