Maryvale, AZ (WHBL-Learfield) - A grand slam by Carlos Gomez highlights a five-run rally in the sixth as the Milwaukee Brewers beat Cleveland 7-4. The decision stopped a six-game Indian winning streak. George Kottaras also had a homer for the Brewers and second baseman Rickie Weeks went 3-for-3. Chris Narveson had a solid start for Milwaukee, going five innings and allowing three runs on six hits. Narveson walked two and struck out seven. Eric Almonte also had three hits in the Brewer win. The team will start the 2011 season with five players on the disabled list: pitcher Zack Greinke, outfielder Corey Hart, catcher Jonathan Lucroy, pitcher Manny Parra and pitcher LaTroy Hawkins.
Meanwhile, the Brewers also traded for veteran right-handed pitcher Sergio Mitre Friday. They sent outfielder Chris Dickerson to the New York Yankees to get Mitre, who was 0-3 with a 3-point-33 earned run average last season.
