(Detroit, MI) -- Nearly 12 hundred United Auto Workers members will meet this week to discuss negotiating principles for UAW members, mainly centered on contract talks with General Motors, Ford and Chrysler. The three-day bargaining convention, which begins tomorrow at Cobo Center, comes as the UAW's four-year contract with the automakers expires in mid-September. Key issues for auto workers at the bargaining table are expected to be job security, boosting employment at factories and sharing in the prosperity of the auto companies.
