Detroit yesterday activated goalie Chris Osgood, who had sports hernia surgery in early January causing him to miss 27 games. Osgood might see action tomorrow night when the Red Wings return to the ice after a three day break to host the Washington Capitals at Joe Louis Arena.

With Osgood’s removal from the injured list, Detroit reassigned Joey MacDoanld to Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.
