LANSING, MI (Metro Source) - It will soon cost more to buy a Powerball ticket, but the payoff will be sweeter for those who win. Starting January 12^th, tickets will double in price from one to two dollars per bet, but jackpots will also double. Next year marks the 20th year for the multi-state lottery game, which Michigan joined nearly 18 months ago. The Mega Millions multi-state game will remain one dollar per bet.
