SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) - After completing an internal investigation into the events surrounding the arrest of a Superior Police officer in Carlton County, the department has demoted Daniel Hawkin from Sergeant to Officer. Police Chief Floyd Peters also placed Hawkin on a two week suspension without pay and he was placed on a two year "last chance" agreement. Hawkin has been on paid administrative leave since the incident on January 23rd. Hawkin was originally charged with domestic assault but pled guilty to disorderly conduct in court last week.
