LANSING (WKZO) -- A bill that would put all Michigan medical marijuana patients and caregivers in a statewide police database is making its way through the legislature. On Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary Committee forwarded the bill to the full Senate for consideration. Opponents of the bill say medical marijuana patients will face police harassment if the database is created. Supporters claim it would allow police to better identify patients when making a traffic stop or when searching a home.
