DETROIT, MI (Metro Source) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney still believes it was the wrong move for the federal governments of the U.S. and Canada to fund the rebuilding of Chrysler and General Motors. At a campaign appearance in Detroit yesterday, the Michigan native and former Massachusetts governor said his op-ed piece in 2008 in "The New York Times" called for a controlled bankruptcy for the automakers. Romney said he disagreed with the Bush and Obama administrations for giving the companies the money needed to get through their bankruptcies. He was greeted by union protesters at his first campaign stop yesterday in Livonia.
