KALAMAZOO, Mi (WKZO) - Downtown Kalamazoo held its 60th annual art fair Friday hosted by the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. As opposed to previous years, this year’s celebration is a two-day event extending into Saturday evening. The added Saturday was in response to popular demand from the public and artists themselves wanting more time to spend adorning downtown Kalamazoo.
Over 200 artists are participating in the fair this year, covering area from Bronson Park to Farmers Alley with tents and stands. Jewelry, sculptures, and music are only a few of the arts that can be found on display at the fair. Over half of the contributing artists are local Michiganders coming from Kalamazoo, Allegan, and Van Buren counties.
The Art Hop is a part of Kalamazoo’s Super Saturday events, including the Kalamazoo Greek Fest, Art on the Mall, and the Do-Dah Parade. Watch above some footage taken from Friday’s festivities.
