(Detroit, MI) -- A proposed new bridge to Canada will take the spotlight today as the Mackinac Policy Conference gets underway. Legislation to develop a bridge just a few miles south of the Ambassador Bridge is expected to be introduced today by Senate Republicans. According to a spokeswoman for Governor Rick Snyder, the bridge is one of the governor's top priorities to position Michigan for the future. The public bridge has the support of many major businesses but has been thwarted thus far in the Legislature.
