BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- A Battle Creek man, who punched a female police officer and tried to grab her sidearm two weeks ago, has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric exam.  His attorney petitioned the judge claiming that William Hill appears to have issues that prevent him from participating in his defense.  He will be evaluated at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry in Ypsilanti before his prosecution will proceed.

The officer was investigating a report of a burglary in the 400-block of Capital, when she claims Hill punched her, and they wrestled on the ground for her gun.  She managed to fend him off and shoot him in the arm to end the attack.  He was already on parole for attacking a Genesee County Police officer two years ago.
