LANSING (WKZO) -- Police around Michigan arrested 218 drunk drivers during the July 4th weekend drunk driving crackdown.  The Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning says 41 of those arrests were for those with a blood alcohol content of point-17 or higher, which is more than twice the legal limit.

Forty-nine drivers were also arrested on drug charges, which was more than double what it was the year before.  Nine people were killed on Michigan roads over the July 4th weekend, with four of those crashes involving alcohol.
