(DETROIT)(WKZO) - Get ready for another Red Wing veteran to hang up his skates…this morning, Kris Draper is expected to announce his retirement from the NHL…the 40 year old forward helped the Wings win four Stanley Cups, but may be best known for the hit he took from Claude Lemieux of Colorado during the 1996 playoffs that broke Draper’s jaw and cheek…and prompted a bitter feud between the two teams, ultimately resulting in Lemieux being pounded by Draper’s linemate Darrin McCarty the next season.
