DETROIT, MI (Metro Source) - The trial for the man accused of trying to blow up a plane with explosives hidden in his underwear will not be delayed. A federal judge ruled that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab will be tried beginning October 4th. Abdulmutallab, known as the underwear bomber, allegedly tried to blow up a flight over Detroit on Christmas Day 2009. In rendering her decision, U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds says that Abdulmutallab and his counsel have had enough time to prepare and that it is in the public's interest to see the trial go on as scheduled.
