KALAMAZOO COUNTY (WKZO) -- A slippery, rural road is being blamed for a fatal head-on between a semi and a car in northeastern Kalamazoo County that left 22-year-old Glen Lovell of Delton dead.
He was a passenger in a car driven by his 19-year-old girlfriend southbound on M-43 North of Richland near the Barry County line.
Deputies believe the car slid on the ice right into the path of the semi and was crushed. He was dead at the scene.
The driver was cut out of the wreckage and rushed to Borgess emergency with multiple broken bones and a closed head injury.
A state police accident reconstruction team is trying to determine what happened but they believe she was driving too fast for conditions.
