DETROIT -- The home belonging to the man who shot four Detroit Police officers Sunday was heavily damaged by fire overnight. Detroit firefighters were called to the home of Lamar Moore on Sorrento Street shortly after 3:00 a.m. Tuesday. The home sustained extensive damage before the flames were put out.
Moore was under investigation for the alleged rape and kidnapping of an underage girl. He went to the 6th precinct Sunday afternoon with a shotgun and opened fire. Police returned fire and killed Moore. Arson investigators are looking into what caused the blaze.
