LIVONIA (WKZO) - Funeral services will be held today for the 48-year-old Livonia Police officer who was killed in the line of duty earlier this week. Larry Nehasil, a 20-year-veteran of the Department, was killed in a shootout with a burglary suspect in Walled Lake earlier this week.
The suspect Nehasil was attempting to arrest also died. Police arrested 48-year-old Terry Bowling at the scene for an alleged string of home break-ins allegedly committed with his brother, David.
Craig Nehasil says the community support has been welcome since his brother's death. His funeral Mass is this morning at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Plymouth.
