KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- In a weekend report, it was revealed that the biggest security breach during President Obama's visit to Kalamazoo wasn't by a would-be terrorist or tea-party activist, but by a drunken off-duty Kalamazoo Public Safety officer, who has now resigned over the matter.
The report in the Kalamazoo Gazette claims that PSO Mark Laster quit on the day he was to face a disciplinary review by the chief, and that Internal Affairs was recommending he be fired.
The report claims that Laster was confronted several times by on-duty officers as he tried to avoid the lines waiting at security, and was obviously drunk and disrespectful, sometimes disobeying direct orders. Laster was apparently accompanied by his wife and daughters at the time.
