(Lansing, MI)  --  For the first time since the recession took Michigan's economy into the red, Michigan State Police are welcoming new recruits.  The state police academy kicked off its first trooper recruit school in three years after state budget cuts prevented it from being operated in 2009 and 2010.  The money to pay for the training and the new officers is coming from a federal grant.  The new recruits will graduate in May.
