KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Nielsen Service reports 111 million Americans tuned in to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, making it the most watched TV program in history, just beating out last year's game.
Now the buzz in Kalamazoo is how to celebrate the event and honor former Maroon Giant and Bronco Greg Jennings when he returns to Kalamazoo.
Western Michigan University Athletic Director Kathy Beauregard said he made an impression when he was here--and when he wasn't.
"We knew he was very special," Beauregard said. "When we knew he was extra special was the year we didn't have him."
WMU President John Dunn says they're glad to have had him.
"He's the real deal," WMU President John Dunn said. "We can be very proud of him for his athletic, academic [performance] and his commitment to the community."
A recognition of Jennings's achievement of some kind will be made by the university, but what shape that will come in has yet to be determined.
