MORE TO COME: Team interviews and a full recap will be on the Bronco Sports First Page
DETROIT (WKZO) -- Turnovers were a thorn in the side of the Broncos as they fall to the Purdue Boilermakers in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, 37-32.
Western jumped out early 8-0, but from there it was all Purdue, scoring 30 unanswered points. The Broncos didn't help themselves, committing 7 turnovers- 3 fumbles and 4 interceptions.
One bright spot for WMU was Jordan White, who set a new Pizza Bowl record for most catches in the bowl's history (13), he also eclipsed the MAC reception yards record in his career finale for the Broncos.
Western Michigan finishes 2011 at 7-6, and falls short of claiming their first ever bowl victory.
