TEKONSHA (WKZO) -- Tekonsha Township was the end of the road for an active duty soldier from Texas who was taken into custody early Tuesday following a high speed chase that started in Battle Creek and ended at the intersection of M-60 and I-69.

Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies were notified that authorities in Delaware County, Ohio were looking for the 21-year old suspect, who was wanted for felony stalking and possibly much worse.  The man allegedly told his victim he was en route to her house to kill her and her parents and wouldn’t hesitate to shoot police.

Police were called around 12:40 a.m. to the Days Inn on a report that the wanted man had tried to assault someone with a tire iron.  Around ten minutes later, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted on Beckley road near M-66 and the chase was on.

The man has been lodged in the Calhoun County jail on local charges of Fleeing and Eluding and Fugitive from Justice, pending possible extradition to Ohio.
