DETROIT (WKZO) -- Former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick says he has no connection to 27-thousand dollars seized last month from an account at a Texas bank.
That money is part of the 500-thousand taken by the FBI from numerous accounts held by contractor Bobby Ferguson, Kilpatrick's long-time friend. Kilpatrick says he has not received any money from Ferguson and has no knowledge of Mr. Ferguson's accounts in Texas or anywhere else.
In the "Detroit News" Kilpatrick says, "Any reports that tie this seizure to me, my family members or my living expenses is completely false and malicious." In the meantime, prison officials are deciding how much to increase Kilpatrick's monthly restitution to the city. He owes 860-thousand dollars.
