Canucks lose Booth for 4-6 weeks with knee injury

(Reuters) - The Vancouver Canucks will be without forward David Booth for 4-6 weeks after he sprained a right knee ligament, the team said on Wednesday.

Booth was involved in a knee-to-knee collision with Colorado's Kevin Porter on Tuesday and left the game in the first period of Vancouver's 6-0 victory.

Porter was given a kneeing major and a game misconduct for the incident and will face a disciplinary hearing with the NHL on Thursday.

Booth began the season with the Florida Panthers but was traded to the Canucks in October.

He has recorded five goals and 12 points in 19 games with Vancouver and the Canucks have caught fire with Booth in the lineup, winning seven of their last eight games.
