KALAMAZOO (WKZO) --Two groups that oppose changes to the state’s no-fault auto insurance, will hold a town forum in Kalamazoo late Monday afternoon. Proposals in the legislature would eliminate the catastrophic care fund and give drivers more flexibility to buy less coverage.
Opponents say that also means they could become a burden to everyone else in the system.
The Hope Network and the Coalition Protecting Auto No-fault, claims that would generate a windfall for the insurance industry and shift the burden onto taxpayers, without any guarantee of lower rates.
They have invited most local state legislators. It will be interesting to see which show up. It begins at 5:30PM at the Downtown library in Kalamazoo.
