Oakland Athletics Coco Crisp follows through as he hits three-run home run to beat New York Yankees in New York

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Coco Crisp belted a three-run home run in the 10th inning to lead the Oakland Athletics to a 6-4 win over the New York Yankees on Wednesday, a loss that dropped the Yankees out of first place in their division.

New York are now one game behind Boston in the American League East after the Red Sox defeated the Texas Rangers 13-2.

Crisp opened the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning, and got Oakland back into the lead at 3-2 with an RBI single in the eighth inning.

Mark Teixeira's solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning tied the score before Crisp belted a first-pitch slider from relief pitcher Rafael Soriano over the right field fence to score Cliff Pennington and Scott Sizemore.

Nick Swisher also hit two solo home runs for the Yankees, one in the sixth inning to give New York a 2-1 lead and another in the 10th inning.
