LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is on record opposing a proposed City of Kalamazoo charter amendment on marijuana. Schuette wrote a letter to Governor Snyder saying the amendment, which instructs police to treat marijuana offenses as the least important violation of law, would likely lead to lawsuits.
The attorney general added the amendment sends the signal that using pot in Kalamazoo is acceptable. Schuette recommends Snyder reject the amendment when it comes before his office.
