Love-him-or-hate-him actor Russell Brand has been offered a big role in Lamb of God, the upcoming directorial debut from love-her-or-hate-her screenwriter Diablo Cody.
Brand would play William in Lamb, a comedy about religion, plane crashes and Las Vegas, among other things.
For the female lead, opposite Brand, the studio is reportedly considering Dancing with the Stars' Julianne Hough, who is actually quite in demand these days on the big screen.
Brand is coming off the disappointing-in-every-facet Arthur remake and will next be seen in summer 2012's Rock of Ages (alongside the aforementioned Hough). Cody, meanwhile, is far removed from her Juno heyday but wrote Showtime's successful series United States of Tara and has landed the coveted gig of (re-)writing the script for the upcoming Evil Dead remake.
