KALAMZOO (WKZO) -- Three young Kalamazoo men charged with spraying graffiti, cartoons, slogans, and symbols on buildings downtown and on the WMU campus have now pleaded guilty to malicious destruction of a building. They have agreed to pay restitution to cover the cost of removing the paint.
According to their plea agreements, they will get probation and Assistant Prosecutor Carrie Klein says they are reserving the right to recommend jail-time. Aaron Roberts, Jason Vogeli, and Kevin Gibb ‘tagged’ 30 buildings downtown and eight on campus in April. They were video taped committing the vandalism by security cameras, and won’t be getting off lightly. The restitution is expected to cost them thousands of dollars.
Sentencing is scheduled for October.
