STURGIS, MI (WKZO) -- A physician who says he was framed by police and wrongfully sent to prison says he wants his life back, and he wants Sturgis to finance it. Former E.R. Doctor Terrence Whiteman who was accused and convicted of 15 counts of swapping drugs for sex at Sturgis Hospital is now suing the police, the city, the prosecutor, the former sheriff and a long list of others after those convictions were tossed out on appeal and the charges subsequently dropped.
The officer who put together the case against him, Sgt. Luis Rosado was fired. Dr. Whiteman claims its because he fabricated evidence, which damaged his career and reputation and his relationship with his family.
He even did jail time. He calls it ‘malicious misconduct’ and he wants compensation, which isn’t specified in his 59 page civil suit, but he will likely be seeking millions.
