VAN BUREN CO. -- Two Kalamazoo men who were apparently on a shopping trip, picking up supplies to make methamphetamine, are sitting in the Van Buren County Jail after they got caught driving a car with defective equipment. They were pulled over Tuesday by Van Buren County Deputies for that violation.
It turned out both the driver, 32-year-old Daniel Douglas, and his passenger were wanted on outstanding warrants. That led to the search of the car and the discovery of the meth making components. Douglas was also arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, a knife, and for violating parole. The name of his passenger has not been released.
