MIAMI (Reuters) - Police in Florida are negotiating with a suspect inside a bank in suburban Miami who may have a possible bomb, a police spokeswoman said on Friday.
"We have an individual inside and we have a device inside and we are trying to contain it," Sergeant Janette Frevola told reporters after police officers, including a SWAT team, sealed off the Bank of America branch in Coral Gables.
Frevola said there were no customers or bank employees inside the bank, but gave no more details. Media reports had initially said there was a hostage situation following an attempted robbery.
U.S. Highway 1 and nearby roads were shut down.
