Top-ranked Oregon looked the part last night in a 60-to-13 thumping of UCLA. The Ducks celebrated their first number-one ranking in school history by improving to 7-and-0 for the first time since starting 8-0 in 1933.

Eighth-ranked Michigan State hopes to stay undefeated when the 7-and-0 Spartans play tomorrow at Northwestern. Michigan has the weekend off. Western Michigan is on the road tomorrow against Akron while Notre Dame plays Navy at the new Meadowlands Stadium.
