KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A teen attacked the clerk with a box knife Wednesday afternoon at a Kalamazoo video game store, for no apparent reason.
Kalamazoo Public Safety reports the young man appeared to be looking at merchandise at the Game Plaze, 4026 South Westnedge, and then suddenly turned on Randy Barker Jr., slashing him.
The suspect may have fled empty handed, leaving the motive for the crime an open question.
The suspect is described as a thin black teen of average height with short cropped hair, and side burns that come to a point. He either had a double point on the left side of his face or a scar. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
He managed to flee the area before police could set up a perimeter.
Barker was stitched up at Bronson Hospital's emergency room and sent home to recover.
