(Detroit, MI) -- Detroit's chief operating officer is leaving his post after just six months on the job. Mayor Dave Bing released a statement after accepting the retirement of Bob Buckler due to health reasons. Bing said Buckler had retired from Detroit Edison for the same health reasons, which recurred two weeks ago. The mayor called his former COO, quote, "a tremendous asset to the organizational and operational efforts of this administration and the city of Detroit." Buckler was named to the post in April after retiring from DTE Energy in 2008.
