MORENCI (WKZO) -- An Amber Alert remains in effect as authorities continue to look for three young boys who were handed off to a woman who may not exist, by a man preparing to hang himself.
The boys' father, John Skelton, survived the suicide attempt.
He claims he gave his 5, 7 and 9 year-old sons to Joann Taylor, who may drive a silver van and may live in Jackson or Hillsdale County.
Morenci Police Chief Larry Weeks said investigators are asking for the public's help.
Family Friend Kathye Herrera said Skelton's head is not in a good place right now.
"I think he's just very depressed and Thanksgiving didn't help," Herrera said.
The boys are considered to be in extreme danger.
Taylor is supposedly someone that Skelton met on the Internet four years ago and has been in contact with periodically, or so he claims.
