Detroit couldn’t stop Dirk Nowitzki last night as he led Dallas to an 88-to-84 win over the visiting Pistons. Nowitzki poured in a season high 42 points and pulled down 12 rebounds helping the Mavericks rally from a 12-point third quarter deficit. He scored 15 in the final period, including 8-for-8 from the free throw line.
The Pistons did a nice job to stay in the game in the first half after the Mavs started out scoring the first 11 points and leading by as many as 14 before Detroit came back to go up 42-to-38 at halftime. Tayshaun Prince and Rodney Stuckey each finished with 19 points for the Pistons.
The Pistons, who slipped to 5-and-9, including 2-and-6 away from the Palace, play tonight at Memphis.
