The St. Norbert Green Knights ran away from Elmhurst College in their home opener at Schuldes Sports Center Tuesday night 74-48. David Wipperfurth led SNC with 21 points. The 10th ranked Knights improved to 3-0 on the season.

Marquette lost to 18th ranked Gonzaga in the third place game of the CBE Classic in Kansas City 66-63. Jimmy Butler led the Golden Eagles (4-2) with 22 points. The UW-Milwaukee Panthers shot just 29 percent from the floor in falling to Western Michigan at home 67-55. The UW-Eau Claire women defeated St. Norbert College in Eau Claire 73-56.
Phoenix Gals crack poll early
The UW Green Bay Phoenix women are in Cancun, Mexico this week for the Caribbean Challenge, playing Hartford tomorrow. In this week's USA Today/ESPN womens coaches poll, Green Bay (3-0) is ranked number 23. It's the earliest GB has ever cracked a national poll, the previous best was mid December. The Phoenix continue be ranked number 1 in one national mid-major poll, second in another.
A power play victory
The St. Norbert mens hockey team improved to 8-1 on the season with a 2-1 road victory at Lake Forest Tuesday night. Seth Soley and Alain Joanette scored power play goals in the second period. St. Norbert is ranked 4th in the NCAA III poll this week.
Turkey treat for Gamblers
The Green Bay Gamblers will kick off the holiday with a match against the Waterloo Blackhawks at the Resch Center tonight. Face-off is at 7:05 PM. The Gamblers are coming off a weekend sweep of Des Moines and remain in a first place tie in the USHL's Eastern Division.
