GALESBURG (WKZO) -- He was not a very good armed robber and will likely be formally charged with a failed stick-up at the Shell Mart in Galesburg.

He walked in early Sunday morning and demanded cash from the clerk, who told him no, he was not getting any.

The robber fled and she dialed 9-1-1.

Then, the robber walked back in and told her this time that he had a weapon and she informed him that she still was not going to give him any cash and that police were on the way.

He fled again empty handed.

They stopped him driving a short distance away and made the arrest. He is expected to be charged with attempted armed robbery and drunk driving.
