DETROIT (Reuters) - Henrik Zetterberg scored an overtime goal and gave the Detroit Red Wings a 3-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Monday for their fourth win in five games.
Detroit forced overtime on a goal from Nicklas Lidstrom at 7:24 of the third period and the Red Wings went on to secure a second triumph over the Coyotes in three games this season.
Phoenix goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov made 37 saves but could not hold off Detroit (9-3-1) as Phoenix (4-5-5) lost their third straight game.
Detroit opened the scoring when Daniel Cleary found the net 1:40 into the game but Phoenix answered in the final minute of the first period on a goal by Martin Hanzal. Keith Yandle put Phoenix ahead with a second period goal.
