The victory allowed the Pistons to avoid their first 0-and-6 start since 1980. Richard Hamilton, who missed the last two games with a sore foot, contributed 16 points off the bench for Detroit. Tracy McGrady got the start at point for the Pistons as Rodney Stuckey was benched by head coach John Kuester.
McGrady ended with 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists in 23 minutes for the Pistons, who host Golden State tomorrow night.
