No problems last night for Michigan State in its exhibition opener as the Spartans doubled up visiting Saginaw Valley State 88-to-44 at the Breslin Center. Kalin Lucas scored 13 points in 19 minutes and Draymond Green had 12 points for M-S-U.
Lucas looked to be in midseason form, playing for the first time since March when he ruptured his left Achilles tendon during the NCAA tournament. Durrell Summers and Keith Appling, in his debut with the Spartans, each scored 12 points. Michigan State has its final exhibition game Monday against Nebraska Omaha in East Lansing and then opens regular season play a week from Friday at home against Eastern Michigan.
