KALAMAZOO -- There may be up to a five-thousand dollar reward available for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the firebug who set fire to one of the now vacant Checker Motors plants over the weekend.  Kalamazoo Township’s Fire Marshal says that due to the intensity of the fire and the damage it cause, it may be impossible to determine how it began.

The building was slated to be demolished, so there were no utilities that could have sparked the fire--investigators say that could mean human intervention.  The State Police Arson Tip line has a standing reward in arson cases at 1-800-44-ARSON.
