KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A man in a mini-van who failed to stop at a red light collided with a Portage School bus yesterday morning at the intersection of Nazareth and Gull Roads. There was only one student on board the bus and that 18-year-old was not hurt. The 78 year old driver of the minivan suffered minor injuries and so did the 56 year old woman behind the wheel of the bus. Both were taken to Bronson emergency to get patched up. The driver of the minivan may be cited.

A two-car accident on Kalamazoo's West Side snarled traffic briefly yesterday afternoon. A car exiting a private drive on Drake Road just north of West Main pulled into traffic and was struck by a woman in her 20’s, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer Chris Kotecki says, it could have been a lot worse... The driver of the Northbound vehicle was not injured but was cited for failure to yield.
